Didn't See That One Coming: The Dark Knight Rises

We now know the title of the third Christopher Nolan Bat-flick: The Dark Knight Rises. That's not one I would've put any money on, simply because it doesn't follow any predictable pattern from the first two. In fact, it would've made a more logical name for the second one, following Batman Begins. In other words: name for the hero + verb. But The Dark Knight stopped that train, leading me to expect something like The Caped Crusader or Batman Triumphant for the final part of the trilogy.

Oh well, based on Nolan's track record so far: it'll be great, no matter what the title is.

I'm betting it will come to be known as DKR because obviously the 2nd was known as Dark Knight, and you can't just call the 3rd one 'Rises'. Also people are too lazy to say the full name every time, so DKR is the only possibility I can think of

Oh also, I heard two other rumor tidbits:
- He (officially) ruled out the Riddler as a villain in DKR
- He has been meeting with young women for a new female role. Could be a Rachel replacement / love interest, or apparently based on the types of women he's interviewed - could be catwoman

Interestingly enough, "DKR" is how comic fans have long referred to Frank Miller's seminal 1986 miniseries, The Dark Knight Returns. So maybe it's a nod to that!
