He's A Doctor, Damn It, Not A Chick Magnet!

Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Karl Urban will be playing young Dr Leonard McCoy in JJ Abrams' re-imagining of Star Trek. Evil Sylar as Spock. Some hunk as Bones. What's next? I'm thinking... somebody who can actually act portraying James Tiberius Kirk?!?

They said.

It couldn't.

Be done!

Let's get the Hell out of here.

Karl Urban is not bad and was pretty incredible in the second Bourne movie.

Are you saying that the new movie will be populated by non-good-actors, or are you saying that James T Kirk was never well acted in the first place?

I like to think it is the latter.

'Spock. Spoooockkkkk'

Don't forget that Simon Pegg ("Shaun of the Dead", "Hot Fuzz", "Run Fat Boy, Run") has been signed to play Montgomery "Scotty" Scott.

It was the latter.

It just won't be the same. Remaking Star Trek can't possibly be a good thing. I'm already steeling myself to be disappointed.

So the full crew has been announced:

Captain Kirk -- Chris Pine
Spock -- Zachary Quinto)
Sulu -- John Cho
McCoy-- Karl Urban (As stated in your post)
Scotty -- Simon Pegg
Uhura -- Zoe Saldana
Chekov -- Anton Yelchin

With Eric Bana playing a villain named 'Nero' (and a cameo by Leonard Nimoy).

Give it a chance, Vicki. Just try to pretend that the original series never happened.
