It only took one issue for new writer Tony Bedard to live up to my hopes in terms of de-skankifying Supergirl! I just finished reading Supergirl # 20, in which Kara takes on a bunch of the gang from Amazons Attack, including a giant ugly cave troll, and she was nothing short of lovable (says someone who used to love her)! She didn't act like a ditz, come on to anyone, or even once try to escape responsibility for what she'd done earlier (accidentally helping in the taking down of Air Force One); instead she put her life on the line to save a bunch of innocent civilians and was actually pretty smart in the use of her powers.
This is the way Supergirl's supposed to be portrayed! Thank you, Mr Bedard!
