I predicted earlier that Monday's excellent outbound travel experience would be countered somehow on the return trip... well, you could say that: our flight out of Philadelphia was cancelled, and no other flights were available until tomorrow!
Rather than hang around and hope for better luck tomorrow, we opted to drive our rental car all the way back home! Eight hours of driving (with almost no stops) later, I'm safely home, where I belong.
The irony is that we arrived back here only 3 hours later than we would've had we flown, and it would've only been 2 hours later if we'd left at the time we'd planned to leave for Philly airport (we spent an extra hour trying to get another flight before giving up and starting to drive).
It was a long trip but at least we had great traffic on the highways, so it wasn't a total disaster.

Welcome back... if it's any consolation, driving that distance probably disrupted the atmosphere less than the flight would have.
See ya Tuesday.
I think you should just go buy yourself some carbon credits to offset the trip.
What better way is there to feel good about yourself than spending money!
Welcome back! I hope Harrisburg, State College, Buffalo and St Catherines were excellent tourist destinations.
Don't you just love Philly's airport? I have never seen so many weeds popping up through the runways as that decrepit place.
So, isn't there a broad rental car policy that prevent cars rented in US from being returned in Canada? If this was not a problem, who did you rent from?
