In an historic turn of events, the United States of America has elected their first black President tonight. If that's all that tonight's events accomplished, it would still be impressive on that basis alone. But it may turn out to be much more important that the U.S. just elected the right person to lead their country out of the disaster that the Bush Administration created, as well as the mess that all of us have made of the planet. At least, that's the hope that I have the audacity to hold as I watch the election results.
Congratulations to the Obama camp for running such an impressive campaign! It was a cold, dark eight years under the Republican fearmongers, and it can't end soon enough.

as i watched his acceptance speech, i kept thinking how sharply he contrasted with bush
He sure has a mess to clean up. It is not going to be easy for him but I sure think he is the right guy for the job. Loved his 'you've earned the puppy' comment.
