Last night, the Rangers beat the Penguins 3-2 in a shootout, after trailing 2-0 late in that game, which recreated the scenario that happened the last time the two teams played (in October).
Tonight, the Rangers were in Montreal, where in their last meeting (last season) the Rangers blew a 5-0 lead only to lose in a shootout. Tonight the Rangers fell behind 4-0 early, but battled back to 4-2 by the end of the 2nd. Another 2-goal deficit, going into the 3rd period... could they repeat their heroics from last night, and also avenge that huge comeback that they'd allowed the Habs last season in the process?
That'd be a big, fat "no." Instead, they gave up 2 more goals and lost 6-2, which means that they've now been outscored 12-5 over their past 3 games. Not a good sign.
