At a grocery store recently, I saw a machine with a huge banner that proclaimed:
Change your coins into cash!
Setting aside for the moment that fact that coins already are cash, I couldn't help but laugh when Vicki pointed out the commission being charged for this 'service': 10%! So they're taking legal tender off your hands and giving you store credit, and all it costs you is the low, low price of 1/10th of its value!
Is this what we've come to?
