Just as happened when the XBox 360 launched, and demand outstripped supply (by a lot), you could entertain yourself all day long today just watching the PS/3 sales close on eBay for hundreds of dollars over the retail price. Lots of sellers have Buy It Now prices of $2000 US and more, for an item that retails (if you could find it) for around $700 - $800 US.
People are funny, aren't they!
