The last three Rangers games have been against division leaders in tbe East: Buffalo, Atlanta, and then Buffalo again. They managed to get points in all three, but unfortunately each was a loss (after regulation). I take it as good news that they could go toe-to-toe against the other two division leaders (NYR currently leads the Atlantic, but it's a narrow lead and the teams chasing them have games in hand). But it's still a three game losing streak! Back on the positive side, they trailed in two of the three games, late in the third, and came back to tie it up and send it into overtime. Last night, in Buffalo, they trailed 2-0 in the second period, then lead 3-2 in the third, but couldn't hold the lead and it went into overtime 3-3. When they got through the five minute overtime without losing, I felt buoyed, since they seem to lose in O/T but win the shootouts (they were 3-0 in SO's so far this season). But it wasn't to be, and they lost 1 goal to 0 after 3 shots each.
At least they don't have to play the Sabres anymore this season! It's a bit weird that they've completed their 4 game series with Buffalo already, despite having yet to play any of their 4 against the Habs, Senators or Bruins, and before playing the first of 8 games they'll have versus the Islanders! The wacky world of NHL scheduling gets a little stranger every year, I think!
