1) "Hotel California", of course!
2) "Jumping Jack Flash", ditto!!
3) That'd be diminuitive Jason Molina, lead singer, songwriter and all around swell guy, from the incomparable Magnolia Electric Company, with his arm around me (in a purely heterosexual and manly fashion!)
4) Reginald Dwight was how "Elton John" entered the world.
5) Kingston, Ontario is where the Tragically Hip originally called home (and perhaps still do, for all I know).
6) Genesis-post-Gabriel was originally: Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Steve Hackett, as I thought everybody knew!! (just kidding)
7) "We'll Meet Again" was Vera Lynn's huge WWII hit that's referred to in "The Wall".
8) The Travelling Wilburys (Vol I) were Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne (of ELO fame).
9) J. Geils Band recorded "No Anchovies, Please" and released it on "Love Stinks". It's a song that has to be heard to be believed.
10) "Eraser", released last year, was indeed Thom Yorke's debut solo.
I am absolutely pissed about missing this. Again, this is your fault and responsibility.
I'll get right on feeling bad about that, Tim.
Read that book I lent you a year or two back, yet, by the way....?
P.S. You'd almost think these sorts of experience would encourage a person to check this site once a day or so, wouldn't you....?
Ha ha ha ha no ha ha ha ha ha
I have now tried to read Fortress of Solitude 3 or 4 times. I am just not into it and need to give it back.
I've got a couple bands for you to check out:
Ox - From Vancouver
Ladyhawk - also from Vancouver. Label mates of Jason Molina. He and I both pimp them. Plus there is a picture of a nude woman on the cover. Always a plus.
Pavement - Do a search on them. They are considered the best band of the 90s (ahead of R-head). Their CD - Crooked Rain Crooked Rain is literally perfect.
Matt Mays - From Nova Scotia. Jason Molina likes him him too.
