Quick 5 Blog Points Up For Grabs

Does anyone know how to search Comments looking for text? This can either be as a reader of the blog, or as a Blogger blog owner, as it's on my own blog that I want to search the comments. Basically I want to scan all comments, across all posts, looking for a keyword. This would've come in handy previously when I was trying to track down my Global Warming ruminations.

5 Blog Points... anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Google's "site:" prefix seems to do the trick. To find my comments (and places where you've referred to me) you could use "peter j." site:kimota94.blogspot.com (including the quotes, otherwise you'll get posts like this one where you refer to both Peter Gabriel and J. Jonah Jameson). Similarly, you can track down where "An Inconvenient Truth" is referred to as "AIT" with ait site:kimota94.blogspot.com and get this post.

I don't have blog-points, but I have some friends who have been giving away "no-points" since the 80's...

Blog Points are probably distant cousins to Marvel's tradition, started up again recently, of awarding No Prizes to fans who accomplish certain noteworthy feats, such as writing in to point out a 'mistake' in a Marvel comic but then providing an explanation for why it's not really a boo-boo.

You can also use "site:" for top-level domains---"site:.ca" will restrict searches to anything hosted on a Canadian domain---and within site hierarchies, e.g. "site:peterjanes.ca/blog/" to search only my weblog and not my fan site for Lenni Jabour or family tree.

("site:" works on Google's "search appliances" too, hint hint.)
