NFL Playoffs Are Now Underway!

The first game is wrapping up as I type this, with the Indy Colts up 23-8 over the lacklustre Kansas City Chiefs. In many ways, that score actually flatters the Chiefs, considering it took them almost 3 full quarters of football to earn their first first down! Prior to a good drive late in the 3rd quarter, their defense had approximately the same number of yards as their offense. When it was 9-0 Indy, it could easily have been 28-0 or even 35-0, as Manning kept throwing interceptions (two of them up to that point) or failing to close the deal once they got into the KC red zone. Six good drives resulted in three field goals, a missed field goal (I think) and two picks by KC, limiting them to 9 points.

Not a great game, but it was kind of fun watching most of the game waiting to see if KC QB Trent Green would ever connect for a first down!

Final Score: Indy 23, KC 8

Both Jim Hinckley and Your Humble Blogger had picked them to win, so we're both 1-0 so far. An NFL Playoff Preview TV show I watched this afternoon, with their panel of four experts, all picked KC!

We're here at Indianapolis's famous RCA Dome, where we've secretly replaced the Colts' Peyton Manning with Canada's Preston Manning. Let's see if anyone can tell the difference!
